How much do WhatsApp Business messages cost in Saudi Arabia?

Meta's official price for every message delivered to a customer in Saudi Arabia — marketing, utility, authentication and replies — when a message is free, and what ATMET Chat adds on top.

If you message your customers on WhatsApp Business through the official connection (WhatsApp API), every message has a price, and Meta sets it — not ATMET Chat, not any other provider. This article puts together the official prices for a customer in Saudi Arabia, explains when a message is free, works out what a campaign or a month of replies costs, and shows what you pay ATMET Chat on top.

Every price here comes from Meta's official rate cards in effect since October 1, 2026: the same ones shown on the Meta message rates page, for every country and every billing currency.

Who sets the price of a WhatsApp Business message?

Meta alone sets the price, and it charges for every message delivered to the customer, not for every message sent. The price depends on three things:

  • The type of message: marketing, utility, authentication, or a service reply inside the conversation window.
  • The customer's country: a message to a customer in Saudi Arabia is priced differently from one to a customer in Egypt or the UAE.
  • The billing currency: Meta publishes a rate card in every currency and bills your account in the one chosen for it.

You pay Meta directly, from the payment method on your WhatsApp Business account. The bill does not pass through ATMET Chat, and nothing is added to it.

All of this applies to the official connection only. ATMET Chat channels, which link your number with a QR code, carry no Meta message fees.

What does each type of message cost for a customer in Saudi Arabia?

Meta's price for each message delivered to a customer with a Saudi number, from the riyal and dollar cards in effect since October 1, 2026:

Message typeExamplesIn riyalsIn dollars
MarketingAn offer campaign, an abandoned-cart reminder, a birthday greeting0.2159 SAR$0.0576
UtilityAn order confirmation, a shipping update, an appointment reminder0.0401 SAR$0.0107
AuthenticationA one-time login code0.0401 SAR$0.0107
Service replyYour reply, or the AI's, inside the 24-hour window, after the free allowance0.0401 SAR$0.0107

Prices are per message delivered, before the volume discounts Meta gives utility and authentication at high monthly volumes.

The marketing message is by far the most expensive: more than five times the price of a utility message. That is why a template's category matters, and why a campaign should go to people who expect it.

What is the difference between a utility message and a marketing message?

The category follows what the message says, not what it is called. A utility message is about a transaction the customer asked for or is waiting on: their order confirmation, their shipping update, a reminder of their appointment. A marketing message invites the customer to something they haven't asked for yet: an offer, a coupon, a new product, a reminder about a cart they left, a birthday greeting.

So the same template can be utility or marketing depending on what you add to it. A shipping update that ends with a discount code for the next order has become promotional, and Meta classes it as marketing and charges the marketing price. Keep offers for marketing templates, and keep utility messages about the order alone.

What changed in Meta's pricing on October 1, 2026?

Three changes affect every store and business that replies to customers over the official connection:

  • Replies are no longer free without limit. The first 1,000 replies delivered each month are free, per number. After that each reply is charged at the service rate of the customer's country, which Meta set equal to its utility rate.
  • Utility templates inside the window are now charged. An order or shipping update sent while the customer's conversation window is open used to be free; it is now charged at the utility rate, the same as outside the window.
  • An account with no payment method stops replying. Meta delivers the first 1,000 replies of the month, then stops delivering replies until a payment method is added.

The marketing rate for a customer in Saudi Arabia went up too: from 0.1877 SAR on the July 2026 card to 0.2159 SAR on the October card.

When is a WhatsApp Business message free?

Even after the changes, there are cases where you pay Meta nothing:

  • The first 1,000 replies each month, per number, whether your team sends them or the AI does.
  • The free entry point window: when a customer writes to you from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad on the WhatsApp app on their phone, and you reply while their customer service window is open, your reply is free and opens a window from the moment you reply. Meta's pricing page, updated September 30, 2026, says it may stay open for up to 7 days, and that in it Meta doesn't charge for marketing, utility, authentication or service messages.
  • Messages you send yourself from the WhatsApp Business app, on a number that runs on the app and the official connection together. Meta bills only what goes through the official connection.
  • Every message on ATMET Chat channels, since they never go through the official connection.

What does a campaign, or a month of replies, cost?

Examples at Meta's prices for customers in Saudi Arabia; put your own numbers in:

  • A campaign that reaches a thousand customers = 215.90 SAR to Meta (a thousand marketing messages).
  • Five hundred shipping updates outside the conversation window = 20.05 SAR (utility messages).
  • Three thousand replies in a month from your team and the AI: the first thousand are free, and the other two thousand = 80.20 SAR.

The Meta rate calculator does the same sums for any country and any currency, with every line shown.

Does ATMET Chat add anything to the price of messages?

No. Message fees are paid to Meta directly, and ATMET takes no markup or commission on them. What you pay ATMET Chat is your plan's subscription:

  • Stores on Salla and Zid: Plus 49 SAR, Pro 99 SAR, Ultra 249 SAR a month. On Shopify the same prices are charged in dollars: $13.07, $26.40 and $66.40.
  • Businesses without an online store: Plus 99 SAR, Pro 199 SAR, Ultra 249 SAR a month.

Every plan includes both ways to connect: the official connection, and ATMET Chat channels with no message fees. What each plan includes is on the pricing page.

How do you keep your Meta bill down?

  • Reply inside the window. Answering a customer who wrote to you costs far less than a marketing template you start with, and the first 1,000 replies each month are free.
  • Use ATMET Chat channels for day-to-day replies. They carry no Meta fees; keep the official connection for campaigns and interactive messages.
  • Pick the right template category. An order confirmation is a utility template; an offer is a marketing one. Meta checks the category when it approves a template, and can move a utility template to marketing after approval if its content is promotional, with 24 hours' notice: it keeps sending, at the marketing price.
  • Send campaigns to people who expect them. A short list of customers who bought from you costs less, and does more, than a long list of people who don't know you. Segment your audience so each message reaches someone it matters to.
  • Add a payment method before you need it. Without one, Meta stops delivering replies after the free allowance and sends no templates at all.

The short answer

A WhatsApp Business message to a customer in Saudi Arabia costs from 0.0401 SAR for a utility message or a reply, to 0.2159 SAR for a marketing message, paid to Meta directly. The first 1,000 replies each month are free, per number, and messages on ATMET Chat channels carry no fee. ATMET Chat adds nothing to the messages; what you pay it is your plan.

Prices change with every new card Meta publishes, and the Meta message rates page is updated with them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are messages free on ATMET Chat channels?

Yes. ATMET Chat channels link your number with a QR code, like WhatsApp Web, and messages sent over them carry no Meta fee. They suit day-to-day replies, but they don't support bulk campaigns or interactive messages; those need the official connection (WhatsApp API).

Does ATMET Chat take a commission on Meta's message fees?

No. On the official connection you pay Meta directly, from the payment method on your WhatsApp Business account, and ATMET adds no markup. What you pay ATMET is your plan's subscription only.

How many free replies do I get each month?

The first 1,000 replies delivered each month are free, per WhatsApp Business number, since October 1, 2026. After that each reply is charged at the service rate of the customer's country: 0.0401 SAR, or $0.0107, for a customer in Saudi Arabia.

Is the price in riyals or dollars?

Meta bills each WhatsApp Business account in the billing currency chosen for it, and publishes a rate card in every currency. The prices in this article come from the Saudi riyal and US dollar cards in effect since October 1, 2026.

What happens if my Meta account has no payment method?

Meta delivers only the first 1,000 replies of the month, then stops delivering replies until you add a payment method. Templates — campaigns, order updates, verification codes — are not sent at all without one.
